How to view SGN notes in official Gmail App (via Simple Mobile CRM Gmail Addon)
Step 1
Install Gmail Addon. Though we are going to use the Gmail addon in mobile app, we will install it via the Gmail desktop website. Once it's installed in Gmail website, it will (magically) show up in all Gmail clients, including iOS and Android Gmail apps.
Open any email detail page of Gmail, click the '+' button at the sidebar.
Note: If you do not see the side panel, click the arrow of bottom right corner, then the side panel will show up.
In the popup window, search 'Simple Mobile CRM', and click the first result
Click the 'install' button
Step 2
After installation, the CRM addon will be shown in the Gmail side panel, click the icon in the side panel.
Then click 'Connect to our Services'.
Note: if you browser have logged into multiple Gmail accounts, your addon login may raise error. In this case, you may use a new Chrome profile to log into the Gmail addon. Again, once the addon is logged into any browser, it will be (magically) logged in for all Gmail clients, including iOS and Android Gmail apps.
Step 3
In order to view all the existing notes of Simple Gmail Notes in the Gmail addon, you will so need to enable 'CRM auto sync'.
Log in to Simple Mobile CRM desktop, open settings pages, check the option of "CRM Autosync - Pull notes from SGN into CRM when the CRM mobile app / Gmail addon is opened". This option is for subscriber only.
Note: without this option enabled, you could only see those notes that have been previously shared to CRM.
Step 4
Restart the official iOS / Adnroid Gmail app, and open any email, scroll to the bottom of the screen, and click on the Simple Mobile CRM add-on icon.
You could now see the notes of Simple Gmail Notes.
Step 5
If you have updated notes in the Gmail app CRM addon, and want to see the new note from Gmail website, simply sign into CRM from the SGN toolbar. This only needs to be done once.
Next time when an email is opened, it will automatically collect the updated note from CRM.
Tip: if you want add a label for all emails with notes, you can leverage Zapier CRM Integration.
Caution:
Due to limitations imposed by Google side, you may not see the addon icon in mobile app if the email is a 'sent' email or 'promotional' email.
